Motorola

Motorola began in the US in 1928 making the first radios that were ever put into cars. In 1969 Neil Armstrong spoke the famous words "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" from the Moon on a Motorola transceiver. In 1973, Motorola demonstrated the first hand-held portable telephone. More recently Motorola is best known for its mobile phones such as the Razr, but also produces a wide range of other devices.

In 2012 Motorola Mobility (communications division including mobile phones and baby monitors) was acquired by Google.
